QuelleWikipedia

Mısır Çarşısı: what do users think?
Gezen Adam: It's a place that appeals to tourists only.. Its historical texture is magnificent.. If you have a plate of Turkish delight, you turn your back immediately. Don't turn your back on your own brother, on your own people with the greed of making money.. One day that moneyed tourist will leave and you will still be in need of your own brother.. Note: My comment is not for all tradesmen.

Gloria Hurst - Del Castillo: I loved this place so much! I really enjoyed shopping for tea and spices. The shop owners I encountered were nice and helpful

alper yz: You can take a quick Anatolian tour with the artifacts collected from all over Anatolia. Home to many civilizations from east to west, Anatolia has the richest cultural heritage of the region with its ancient cities. The ruins of the ancient city of Pergamon that you see in the photo, and most of it that you cannot see, are unfortunately exhibited in European museums. For this reason, the Istanbul archeology museum and the artifacts in it are among our values that should be protected the most. The perfect choice to go on a cool tour with your coffee in hand on sweltering days. Access is possible with a museum card. If you prepare your digital museum card in advance, you will not be affected by the density at the door.
büşra *: We entered with a Müzekart, it's cool and spacious inside. There are many artifacts from the past, from statues to other archaeological artifacts and tombs. It's not overly crowded either. It must be because of the width of the inside. We had quality time.

mustafa karasoy: "The Kariye Mosque is one of the historically and artistically important mosques in Istanbul. This mosque is located inside a Byzantine church that was later converted into a mosque. The most striking feature of the mosque is the mosaics in its interior. These mosaics are found on walls decorated with colorful and detailed patterns. These mosaics, which depict the life of Jesus, saints and religious scenes, display the best examples of Byzantine art. Visitors marvel at the elegance and artistic value of these unique mosaics. The architecture of the Kariye Mosque is also impressive. The dome, minaret and decorations on the exterior emphasize the magnificence of the mosque. The mosque presents an aesthetic appearance both with the mosaics inside and when viewed from the outside. The surroundings of the mosque are located in Edirnekapı, which is a historical and atmospheric neighborhood. This area carries the traces of traditional Istanbul life and offers visitors an authentic experience. Other historical sites close to the mosque include the Kariye Museum, Mihrimah Sultan Mosque and Tekfur Palace.Kariye Mosque is a must-see for anyone who wants to explore the historical and artistic heritage of Istanbul. The magic of the Byzantine mosaics, the impressive architecture of the mosque and the historical atmosphere around it provide an unforgettable experience for visitors. I would recommend anyone traveling to Istanbul to visit the Kariye Mosque."

world flying: Highlight: Home to a famed collection of late-Byzantine-era frescoes and mosaicsChora means "country" in Greek, and this beautiful Church (originally called the Church of St. Saviour of Chora) lay just outside old Constantinople's city walls. The first Chora Church was probably built here in the 5th century, but what you see now is the building's 6th reconstruction as it was destroyed completely in the 9th century and went through several facelifts from the 11th to 14th centuries. The church was turned into a mosque after the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople and became a museum in 1945. In 2020, it reconverted into a working mosque. The monument is rightly world-famous for its fabulously vibrant 14th-century mosaics, preserved almost intact in the two narthexes and fragmentarily in the nave, and the frescos along the walls and domes. These incredible examples of Byzantine artistry cover a wide range of themes, from the genealogy of Christ to the New Testament stories.
Jonas König: Die Kunst ist atemberaubend
Oleg Naumov: Chora Church or Cariye Mosque is closed due to full-scale restoration. First church here was built in IV century A.D. When defensive walls of Theidosius II, church was incorporated in these walls in 413-414 A.D. Today's church was mostly constructed in 1077-1081 when Maria Doukaina (10??-after 1095) the mother in law of Byzantine Emperor Alexius I Comnenus (1057-1118) rebuilt old church. After that, the church was rebuilt several times in the XIV century. Constantinople was conquered by the Ottomans on May 29, 1453, and church was converted into the mosque in 1500, according to the order of Grand Vizier Hadim Ali Pasha (14??-1511). Famous mosaics were covered with the plaster and they survived till nowadays. Mosque became museum in 1945 and again mosque in 2020. Istanbul, 🇹🇷 Turkey 🇹🇷. May 2, 2023.
Angels L: Consultar si se puede visitar antes de ir. Cuando fuimos estaba en obras por dentro y por fuera, por lo que no se podía visitar por dentro ni se podía ver por fuera, porque la tapaban unas vallas.
Lutfiye Keleş: I visited it when it was a museum. It has wonderful mosaics and it is richer than Hagia Sophia in this respect. I do not know the Christian teachings, so I do not know what events the mosaics represent, it would be a more useful trip if you searched ahead and went.
VeRtoX: Fajnie że został przez zachowany.
Tolga Kalaz: Date/Date 23.05Still in restoration
J. Ege Zahid: Stop turning our common heritage into Mosques! These are very valuable structures of the country. The frescoes and mosaics inside are priceless.
Lonnie L: Was closed. Make sure you check before going.

Grand Bazaar: what do users think?
Guy Anonymous: Wow. So many shops. Pretty much anything you could want and a very cool experience. You will get sucked in to shops to negotiate on things that you don't even want to buy, but that's part of the experience. Coffee and teas sets, pipes, chess sets, rugs, clothes, spices, turkish delight, lights; whatever it is it's there.
Wrensch Louw: Must do
Gloria Hurst - Del Castillo: The Grand Bazaar is a must see when visiting Istanbul but I would recommend you check out smaller bazaars and nearby shops to compare prices. You must be extraordinarily good at bargaining to get a fair price in the majority of the shops at the Grand Bazaar and trust me, you are not. Shopkeepers come from a long line of merchants and they are expert charmers who will sell you something for 3x the value and will make you believe you got it for free.
Yanni Iliopoulos: Nie wieder, die verarschen uns,wir die Touristen nur ein sack mit Geld für die. Nur Geld im Kopf, kein Respekt an die Leute. Die sagen kein Danke wenn du das bezahlst nicht. Schlimm-Schlimm geworden. Nein, nie wieder.
